Make USB drive appear fixed
« : 15 Января 2013, 00:27:27 »
HI All
Apologies for the english.
I have a flash drive which Chip Genius identifies as
USB Device ID: VID = 058F PID = 6387
Chip Vendor: Alcor Micro
Chip Part-Number: SC708(FC8708)/AU6987/AU6990 - F/W 85DE
Flash ID Code:  8988244B - Intel - 2CE/Dual Channel [MLC-8K] -> Total Capacity = 32GB

I have downloaded a verison of AlcorMP (11.12.26.00 - files dated 26/12/2011) which identifies the flash drive as JS29F16B08CAME1 CAP:31072M and seems to work OK in that it recovered the USB, formats it OK etc etc.

I want the flash drive to be identified by windows as a fixed/local drive so I can partition it.
so in AlcorMP I set mode to be Fixed Disk.

But it still shows as a removable disk in windows so no partitions can be seen.

So how can I make this pen drive (and others) appear fixed?
Is it the wrong version of Alcor?
Is it simply not possible with the controller?

Thanks for any information.
