Kingston DTI/4GB
« : 23 Апреля 2011, 19:26:35 »
I messed up my flash drive with UMPTool and now instead of 4GB its showing 8MB Capacity, i opened it up, but the memory is not a standard one - its like a blob and it have a number on it - 125, no markings, no manufacture, nothing.

Controller: CBM 2093A1
Memory: Unknown, handwriting says 125

C4249-338.AOOLF

I tried flashing but the errors are: 'Write config table fail." Also before the flashing it was saying - V88, or V3387.

Thats how UMPTool sees the flash:

And thats after trying to fix it:

1. CBM2093 = V88 - it's controller marker.

Thanks for your reply, but its strange cause the detected chip is only 2GB, the actual size on the Flash Drive (with FAT32) before was 3.80GB. Also i think it detects the type of the memory - V3387, but there is no such device in the list. Also i found that on the CMB chip two of the pins are soldered together, is this a anti-write technique?

Edit:

I just tried no XP, High Scan finished with this status:

1481/4096

but when i re-inserted the flash drive, it was still 8MB MBR.

- If there are no markings on the memory module, it is a sign of Fake.
- 8MB MBR, this means that corrupted firmware.

- No.
Try these options:

Thanks once again for taking out of your time to help me out. I tried 4 version - 2 older and 2 newer

2 older (3.3.8.7/3.3.9.1) - They can't even flash, they just fail with "Detect flash error"
2 newer (3.3.9.7/5.3.0.0) - They flash, but fail with "MP Fail, error code(12)"

And btw yes the memory chip is kind of frozen liquid on top of the board, and have no markings just a hand-written number "125".

00(H)  ADD514B6->NO_FLASH[UNKNOWN_FLASH-0M] --> MP Fail, error code(12).

Yes it looks exactly like this (minus the flashing sticker on top), so i guess i should try and return it. Damn Chinese, Andy thanks for your time, you helped me a lot. Thanks.
