Hi Nat,

Thank you for your reply.  I removed the CDROM using the utility - this worked ok.  Now I have a USB drive of 1.83 GB.  I still do not know if Chipgenius is correct in telling me that it is 4GB ?

I tried each of the different AlcorMP programs you listed, but none of them would see the existence of the USB drive :-(  Do I need to 'load driver' ??

I must confess, I do not really understand what I am doing - I do not know what OnLineRecovery or FCMPTool are for !  Do I need them ?

I try to read the PDF instructions, but they are in Russian, and Google Translate does not make much sense.

Do you have any instructions for an idiot ? :-)

At first we start AlcorMP, then we connect USB Flash Drive (UFD).

There will be RE START MP PROGRAM message, disconnect UFD and we click OK, then again we start AlcorMP.

We connect UFD and in the main AlcorMP menu there should be information on Flash Drive

We click Start and Flash Drive will be restored on 4GB volume.

WindowsXP SP3 x86 is suitable for AlcorMP if RE START MP PROGRAM message doesn't repeat cyclically.

Hi Nat,

I start AlcorMP.exe, wait a little, then insert USB drive.  There is no 'Restart MP Program MP" message :-(  AlcorMP.exe just does nothing, saying 'device count=0'.  However, Windows detects the USB drive, says "Installing new hardware" and shortly afterwards, the USB drive is visible.

Maybe I have confused the registry ?  I have four USB drives, all the same, and I have tried pressing every button in AlcorMP and have run every program in the Alcor folder !

I should add that yesterday. 'Restart MP' message DID appear, but today... nothing. ?!

I consider as an operating system only Windows XPSP3. There can be Windows components block MPTool work.

Hi,

I tried AlcorMP(11.12.26.00) and this recognised the flash drive, BUT - it says it is only 2GB.  When I click 'Start', it checks for bad blocks, up to 100%, then says "Too Many Bad Blocks".  Chipgenius still says the flash drive is 4GB.

Alcor081208 says "20000 - Invalid Device Error.  Bad Block 0/0".

Alcor101026 does not see any flash drive

Alcor 120210 sees the flash drive as 4GB (Flash_Name: SDTNNMAHEM-004G(SDTNNMAHEM-004G)
