Recently I found an old USB drive at home, it has the following specification:
Description: [D:]USB Mass Storage Device(Generic USB Flash Disk)
Device Type: Mass Storage Device
Protocal Version: USB 2.00
Current Speed: High Speed
Max Current: 100mA
USB Device ID: VID = 058F PID = 1234
Device Vendor: Alcor Micro
Device Name: Mass Storage Device
Device Revision: 0001
Manufacturer: Generic
Product Model: USB Flash Disk
Product Revision: 7.76
Controller Vendor: Alcor Micro
Controller Part-Number: SC708AN/AU6987AN [CA04] - F/W 69F2
Flash ID code: 8988244B - Intel JS29F64G08AAME1 - 1CE/Single Channel [MLC-8K] -> Total Capacity = 8GB
Since it has a 8GB chip but instead its only showing up 4GB capacity in my computer, I decided to use a MpTool on it (did that on multiple SG158Xs).
In ChipGenius it claims to be an AU6987AN but when I used "AlcorMP(1.0.0.14)_TL0925" MpTool (the only one that worked it reports to be 6990.
It also appears to have bad blocks error occuring.
What did I do wrong? Please help me point out.
