Hello,

I recently bought a 16gb flash memory from ebay and it turned out to be only 4gb. ChipGenius recognized it as:
ЦитироватьUSB Device ID: VID = 1E3D PID = 2096
Serial Number: CCBB1204251936550130525000

Device Vendor: Generic
Device Name: Flash Disk
Device Revision: 0100

Manufacturer: Generic
Product Model: Flash Disk
Product Revision: 5.00

Chip Vendor: ChipsBank
Chip Part-Number: CBM2096/CBM2096P - [2010-06-01]
Flash ID Code:      2C68044A - Micron - 1CE/Single Channel [MLC-4K] -> Total Capacity = 4GB

I tried to fix it with UMPtool V5537 but I always get an error code (16) or (12) and sometimes (2). I don't know what either of them means. I opened the memory stick. I found "ChipsBank CBM2096 D2P691-04P" written on the chip as ChipGenius said. But the flash chip didn't seem to be Micron, instead it had a strage logo with 'S' symbol (I'll attach a picture of the logo) and ID code "PF369 AR 1152". The UMPtool suggest flash type 2C68044A[MICRON_MT29F32G08CBACA-4096M] so I think this is the problem why I get error.
Can anyone help me fix this flash?
Sorry for bad language. :)

Logo with 'S' symbol means Spectek (subdivision of Micron). Spectek under its own brand produces flash memory from other manufacturers (mostly Micron memory) with a partially usable cells (so-called Downgrade flash). Mark Code PF369 means Part Number FBNL73A59K3BAAWP. 5 means 32 GBit (4Gbyte). 9 means 90% Parent Density (ie 3.6Gbyte).
But in general it is a fake and you can ask for their money back (or partial refund).
