Hello, would like to ask about partition alignment for reliability of this USB (and in general) flash disk.

Volume: G:
Controller: Phison 2251-32 (2232)
Possible Memory Chip(s):
  Intel 29F32GA8DAMC1
  Intel 29F32G08CAMC1
Memory Type: MLC
Flash ID: 89D5943E 74
Chip F/W: 01.05.10
Firmware Date: 2008-01-26
VID: 1005
PID: B113
Manufacturer:
Product: USB FLASH DRIVE
Query Vendor ID:
Query Product ID: USB FLASH DRIVE
Query Product Revision: RMAP
Physical Disk Capacity: 8015314944 Bytes
Windows Disk Capacity:  8011386880 Bytes
Internal Tags: 2QYP-S99Y
File System: NTFS
Relative Offset: 32 KB
USB Version: 2.00
Declared Power: 200 mA

Original Apacer low level format tool was used to format the USB flash.

Partition offset is 8064
See attached image for transfer speed.

Then I used AOMEI Partition tool, I tested most offset modes. I read that usual for 8GB disks offset is between 128 - 512

It looks like the write speed 32KB is better for format modes with offset 128 and 1024.

Does this indicate that this offset should be used?
Why manufacturer formats with offset 8064 with slower writes and worse performance?
Any other offset I should try?

Is my way of testing is correct to determine the right offset? Perhaps there is better way?

Thank you.

Hi

Can someone tell me how I can partition a usb flash drive - windows 7 disk management wont let me and other partition tools say it is not possible to have more than 1 partition

It is a corsair flash voyager 16gb and I want 2 partitions, 1 for PE and 1 for other tools/files

Thanks
